Basic Fire Marshal

This course is suitable for all individuals who have the responsibility of coordinating and ensuring implementation of the organisation’s fire prevention and evacuation procedures.

Course Content

  • An outline of the regulations

  • The causes of fire

  • Look at unsafe practice

  • A practical demonstration on fire awareness in the workplace

  • Trainer assessment on fire evacuation

 Course Objectives

  • Understand the role of a fire marshal

  • Review methods of fire prevention

  • Understand evacuation procedures

  • Prepared action plan

On completion delegates will be able to understand

  • Elimination or reduction of risks (ignition sources), suitable means of detecting and raising the alarm in the event of fire.

  • Adequate emergency escape routes & exits

  • The appropriate type and sufficient quantities of fire extinguishers.

  • Correct type and sufficient quantities of fire signs and notices.

  • Provisions for the correct maintenance of installed fire equipment.

  • Ensure that occupants receive the appropriate instructions/training in e.g. actions to be taken in the event of fire and fire evacuation drills.

Assessment and Certification

The course is delivered by an expert trainer and all candidates will be observed during training. Any written and spoken elements are straightforward and candidates would need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2) to complete them. We can also make special arrangements for anyone requiring assistance if requested in advance.
